UNDATED (Indiana;s NewsCenter) - An Indiana state senator has filed a bill for the upcoming legislative session aimed at ending class high school basketball in Indiana.
Republican Jean Leising of Oldenburg writes in Senate Bill 84 that the bill would allow school corporations to, "participate in an interscholastic athletics association only if the association does not conduct boys or girls interscholastic basketball games in which teams are divided into classes."
The Indiana High School Athletic Association, responding in opposition to the bill, says its member schools have repeatedly rejected moves to return to one class in any sport.
