Statement: Hatch Unlikely To Play Basketball This Season

FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The family of Canterbury basketball star Austin Hatch issued a statement Tuesday indicating he will not be returning to the court this season.

The statement read "Austin continues to make great strides in his rehabilitation; this first year is vital to the recovery process. As a result, it is unlikely that Austin's physicians will clear him to play basketball this season."

Hatch was severely injured in a June private plane crash in Michigan that claimed the lives of his parents
