Fort Wayne (Indiana's NewsCenter)- Brad Stevens will be the Red Coat recipient for the 2012 Mad Anthonys Charity Classic for Children, officials with the event announced Wednesday.

An Indiana native, Stevens has been the head men’s basketball coach at Butler University since 2007. He earned national recognition after taking the Bulldogs to the championship game of the NCAA men’s tournament in both 2010 and 2011.

“We are thrilled and honored to welcome Coach Stevens as part of this year’s event,” Mad Anthonys President Eric Ottinger said. “He has certainly earned his place among this prestigious and accomplished group of Red Coat recipients, and we are very grateful he could make time in his busy schedule to support Mad Anthonys and the Children’s Hope House.”
