TinCaps Come Up Short At Great Lakes

MIDLAND, Mich. – Despite committing four errors and picking up just four base hits, the Great Lakes Loons outlasted the Fort Wayne TinCaps by a 4 -3 final score on Saturday afternoon at Dow Diamond. Fort Wayne starter Matt Wisler, 0 - 2, allowed four runs, just two of which were earned, in his five innings, and that was all the Loons would need en route to their second straight victory.

The TinCaps, 3 - 6, put both the tying and go - ahead runs on base in the ninth inning, but could not complete the comeback. Fort Wayne scored one run in the seventh and another in the eighth to pull to within one. With two outs in the ninth, both Matt Colantonio and Alberth Martinez walked, putting runners at first and second, but Jace Peterson grounded out to end the game.
