FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Big first innings in each game keyed a TinCaps' Friday night doubleheader sweep of Great Lakes.
The Caps scored all of their Game 1 runs in the first inning of the 7-4 victory in the opener.
Adys Portillo used the strong support to gain the win with five solid innings of work on the mound.
Casey McElroy had a two run double and Jace Peterson a two run triple in the big first inning.
The Caps then hit for a pair of runs in the first inning of Game 2 on run scoring hits from Donovan Tate and Lee Orr , and added four more in the third, helped by a bases loaded walk and Matt Colantonio's RBI single.
The TinCaps hit the road for the next six games starting at Lake County Saturday night.
