NEW HAVEN, Ind. (21Alive) - The 21Alive/Parkview Sports Medicine High School Football Player of the Week played a big role in a New Haven's Northeast Hoosier Conference battle at Carroll on Friday night.
Limited to just five touches based on Carroll's defensive scheme, New Haven standout Jordan Hogue rushed for a touchdown, returned a punt for a touchdown and nabbed two interceptions in the Bulldogs' 41-35 win.
"I just play by instinct," Hogue says. "I know they're going to take me out of the offense. I'm going to make plays on special teams and defense to help my team win."
Hogue has nine touchdowns and four interceptions through four games, and seems to find a way to lead his team to victory.
"Sometimes, people are going to take Jordan away, and we've got to be a good enough team to come up with other options," New Haven head coach Jim Rowland says. "He's just got a knack to be a playmaker on both sides of the ball, offensively and defensively. When he's around the ball, he's a threat to take it all the way."
Indiana and Michigan State are two Division I programs that have shown interest in Hogue. He still has plenty of games to turn plenty more heads.
