It's been a long day down in Bloomington with IU administration trying to decide the fate of Head Basketball Coach Kelvin Sampson.
As early as 2 p.m. Friday IU was supposed to hold a press conference to discuss the sampson situation. That press conference didn't take place until 9. No doubt there were several things to workout behind the scenes, but in the end both side came to an agreement and the relationship is over.
IU reached a financial settlement with Kelvin Sampson and accepting his resignation immediately. Although Greenspan didn't confirm this press conference it has been reported that the agreement was for $750,000.
Dan Dakich will take over as interim head coach, Ray McCallum will be an assistant.
One other thing we did find out Greenspan confirmed that members of the team did miss practice Friday, but he does expect everyone to play in Saturday's game at Northwestern.
