Irish To Play Arizona State In Texas
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Notre Dame and Arizona State will play
in the Dallas Cowboys' new $1 billion home in 2013. The Fighting Irish and Sun Devils announced today they'll meet Oct. 5, 2013, at the retractable roof stadium that's set to open in Arlington, Texas, for the 2009 season. Notre Dame will be the home team for the game, which will give NBC the television rights. Irish athletic director Kevin White says Notre Dame is thrilled to return to North Texas, where Irish football has a rich tradition with the team's appearances in the Cotton Bowl over the years. Arizona State AD Lisa Love calls it "a magnificent game for our fans and alumni." The Irish and Sun Devils played a home-and-home series in 1998-99, with Notre Dame winning both. Most Popular |
