BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Jewel Hampton ran for three touchdowns
and Ricky Stanzi threw for two more as Iowa routed Indiana 45-9 on
Saturday.
Iowa, 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the Big Ten, ended its three-game losing streak. Indiana fell to 2-4 with its fourth straight loss and 0-3 in the conference. The Hoosiers had two turnovers, costly penalties and a
missed extra point and failed to manage so much as a first down on
six of its first eight possessions. The Hoosiers lost their last three games at home, and their hopes of reaching bowl games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1990-91 took
a significant shot.
