SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis believes a
trip to San Antonio for a home game could help the Fighting Irish
make sure they don't overlook one-win Washington State on Saturday.
Weis says the intrigue of playing the first "offsite" game
should be enough to keep players' attention. Weis says the
25th-ranked Irish (5-2) had better be ready or they will find
themselves in their seventh straight game decided by a touchdown or
less.
Weis doesn't plan to bring up last year's Syracuse game, when
the Irish were favored by 19.5 and lost by one after the Orange
scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns. The Irish are 28.5-point
favorites this week.
