MIAMI (www.incnow.tv) - Alabama scored on its first three possessions, ran up 582 yards in total offense, and held a near 2-1 advantage in possession time over Notre Dame in winning the BCS Championship game Monday night 42-14 over the Irish.
A.J. McCarron threw for 264 yards and four touchdowns, while Eddie Lacy ran for 140 yards with a touchdown while cacthing one of McCarron's scoring passes for the Tide, which rolled up a 35-0 lead before Notre Dame could get on the scoreboard.
The Irish netted their points in the second half on a two yard Everett Golson touchdown run and a Golson six yard touchdown pass to Theo Riddick.
It is Alabama's second straight national championship and the seventh straight won by a Southeastern Conference school
