FORT WAYNE (www.incnow.tv) - Last minute heroics netted victories for both the IPFW men and women Saturday night.
Frank Gaines hit two free throws with three second left and scored 29 points to lead the Don men over IUPUI 80-79.
Louis Jacobo added 13 for IPFW, which sprinted to a double digit lead in the second half after trailing at the half, then rallied back to pullout the win.
Erin Murphy scored a layup with 17 seconds and added a free throw to help the IPFW knock off Oakland 57-55.
Murphy scored 11 points on Saturday afternoon, but none were bigger than the three-point play that sealed the win for IPFW.
Amanda Hyde and Stefanie Mauk also reached a double-figure scoring total as Hyde led all players with 17 and Mauk hit two triples in the second half to end the game with 13.
