Kansas City (Indiana's NewsCenter). – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially released the bracket for the 21st Annual Division II Men's Basketball National Championship. The 32-team, single elimination format will take place from March 7 - 13 in Point Lookout, Mo., on the campus of College of the Ozarks.
The Indiana Tech men’s basketball team (23-7) is making its sixth national tournament appearance and first since 2008 after receiving one of 10 at-large selections in the 32-team field. The Warriors, who finished the season ranked 18th in the final regular season Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, had their second straight 20-win season under the direction of Head Coach Al Grushkin. The 23 wins were the most by a Tech team since the 2004-05 season.
Indiana Tech will begin tournament play with No. 12 St. Thomas University (22-8) on Wednesday, Mar. 7 at 5:45 p.m.
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference was one of three conferences to land four programs in the championship field. The WHAC will be represented by Indiana Tech, Cornerstone University, Davenport University and Lourdes University.
The tournament kicks off at 8:30 a.m. CST on the first three days, with eight games scheduled. March 10 sees quarterfinal action beginning at 1 p.m. and the semifinals are set for March 12 at 6 and 8 p.m. The Championship final, which will be televised live on CBS Sports Network, will be tipped at 6 p.m. on March 13
