ND Basketball Loses Star Grant To Academics

NOTRE DAME, Ind. (21 Alive) - Notre Dame has lost their men's basketball scoring leader Jerian Grant due to an academic issue.

Grant announced his deparure from the team on Notre Dame's athletic web site, where he said he is no longer enrolled at Notre Dame "due to an academic matter that (he) did not handle properly".

The action removes him from the Irish basketball program.

Grant, the son of former NBA player Harvey Grant, was due to graduate with a sociolgy degree in the spring, and says he will petition to return to Notre Dame to finish his degree
