UNDATED (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Purdue built a big lead before holding on to win at home Saturday, while Indiana and Ball State lost on the road,
Caleb TerBush tossed four touchdown passes, three of them to Gary Bush, as Purdue built a 42-14 halftime lead before holding on to top Marshall 51-41. Ricardo Allen and Josh Johnson each returned interceptions for touchdowns for the Boilermakers, with Allen's giving him the Purdue all time career record with four.
Kain Colter ran for 161 yards and four touchdown to pace Northwestern's 42-29 win over visiting Indiana, with the Wildcats totaling a school record 704 yards of offense in the game.
Nate Sudfield came off the bench to throw a touchdown pass for the Hoosiers, who also had scoring runs from Stephen Houston and DeAngelo Roberts and a kickoff return score by Tevin Coleman.
Despite 455 passing yards and five scoring throws from Keith Wenning Ball State fell at Kent State 45-43 on a last second field goal.
Three of Wenning's scoring passes went to Wllie Snead, who ahd 14 receptions for 216 yards.
