WEST LAFAYETTE (Indiana's NewsCenter) – Purdue senior cornerback Sean Collins has been dismissed from the football team by head coach Danny Hope because of actions that led to his arrest July 14.
Collins’ arrest and the seriousness of the allegations warranted Hope to remove him from the team. Collins had been indefinitely suspended since Saturday afternoon.
“The charges filed against Sean Collins violate the core values of Boilermaker football and Purdue athletics,” Hope said. “As a result, Sean has been removed from the team. If there are any changes in the charges or the outcome of the legal proceedings, we will re-evaluate his status.”
Collins, from Indianapolis, was a non-scholarship player who joined the team as a walkon in 2009. He did not play in any games over the last three seasons
