FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The University of Saint Francis 2011 football schedule has been finalized and includes two NAIA Top 10 matchups and a game in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the Cougars’ first six games.

USF, which was ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Football Coaches’ Spring Top 25 Poll released last week, will play No. 2 and two-time defending Mid-States Football Association Mideast League champion St. Xavier University on Oct. 1 at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium.

USF plays host to No. 7 Marian University for Homecoming on Oct. 15.

The Cougars will be playing the newest collegiate football team in Ann Arbor, Mich., the Concordia University Cardinals, on Sept. 24.

The Cougars open the home portion of their schedule on Sat., Sept. 17 against McKendree University, which was ranked No. 8 in the final NAIA 2010 Top 25. The Bearcats, who tied with William Penn University for the MSFA Midwest League title in 2010, are transitioning to NCAA Division II and will not be eligible for NAIA post-season play in 2011.

The rest of USF’s 2011 home schedule includes two Ohio based clashes with Malone University on Oct. 22 and a non-conference Central State University on Nov. 12, the regular-season finale.

USF opens the 2011 campaign at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, on Sept. 10. Other USF road games include; No. 26 Walsh University in Canton, Ohio, on Oct. 8; Quincy University in Quincy, Ill., on Oct. 29, and Taylor on Nov. 5.
