FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Concordia Lutheran has proven all season long it is a girls basketball program to be reckoned with. The Cadets are 10-1 versus 3A teams (their only 3A loss was to No. 1 Norwell on Nov. 22).
More impressively, the seventh-ranked Cadets knocked off three of the state's Top 6 teams on their way to Terre Haute. Saturday's state final against Fortville Mount Vernon could be a fourth.
Concordia is led by Courtney Smith's 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Lauren Marinko adds another 12.5 points per game for the Cadets. Concordia has won its five postseason games by over 15 points.
Head coach Dave Miller talks about the road to state, and upcoming game this weekend.
Concordia faces Fortville Mount Vernon in the IHSAA 3A Girls Basketball State Championship at 6 p.m. Saturday on NBC33.
