OSSIAN, Ind. (21Alive) - The lone returning starter from Norwell High School's IHSAA 3A Baseball State Championship team has been suspended for his senior season.

Pitcher Jonah Patten was suspended under Norwell's athletic Code of Conduct for chewing tobacco.

Patten hit .366 for the Knights last season, and drove in both runs in their 2-1 title game victory. Additionally, he went 4-0 on the mount with a 2.07 ERA with 57 strikeouts.

Patten signed his national letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Arkansas in November.
