SYRACUSE, Ind. (21Alive) - Wawasee High School will be under new football leadership this fall following the departure of their longtime head coach.
Josh Ekovich, 28, takes over a Warriors program from Tom Wogoman, who accepted the head coaching job at Northridge High School.
Ekovich is a former University of Saint Francis lineman who was an assistant on Wogoman's staff.

The Warriors started 2-4, but rattled off 5 wins in their final 6 games to finish 7-5.
"We've got good senior leadership that was pivitole in our turnaround last season," head coach Josh Ekovich says "Starting off fairly poorly, but ended up playing for a sectional championship."
Wawasee is led offensively by junior quarterback Gage Reinhart and junior wide receiver Clayton Cook. Senior Braxton O'Haver is a talented linebacker that will help lead the defense.
"I'm pretty excited about this season, excited to see how we gel as a team and come together as a unit," Ekovich says.
Wawasee hosts Whitko in Week 1 of the high school football season on Aug. 23.
