PORTLAND, Ind. (21Alive) - Jay County High School is one of a number of area teams to relocate athletic conferences this offseason.

The Patriots have moved from the Olympic Conference to the Allen County Athletic Conference.

The move provides new opportunities to play teams closer to home and see how Jay County stacks up with area teams.

On the football field, the Patriots will play and smash mouth style of football. The offense will run a Power-T, which is like a Winged-T without motion.

Defensively, Jay County runs the Stack 30, which has the linebackers right behind the defensive line.

Jay County comes off a 7-4 record, exciting in the second round of sectionals.

With the move to a new league, the 2014 season is as good as any to make a splash.
