FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter)- Homestead emerged as the winner of the high school football 7 on 7 Tournament of Champions sponsored by the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana National Guard Saturday at Homestead.
The Spartans topped Valparaiso 28-14 in the final as the survivors of the 32 team field from the northern part of Indiana.
South Side and North Side each reached the semifinals before being eliminated.
Other area schools taking part by invitation were Snider, Northrop, Bishop Luers, Huntington North, New Haven, Woodlan, DeKalb, Bluffton, Columbia City, and Bellmont.
Homestead will play Heritage Christian, the winner of the 32 team event in the southern part of Indiana a week earlier, Tuesday at the Colts Complex on the west side of Indianapolis.
The winner will then represent the Colts in the NFL 7 on 7 Tournament in Indianapolis later this summer.
