FORT WAYNE (www.incnow.tv) - Bishop Luers has retired the number nine football jersey worn by Mr. Football winner, Butkus Award winner, and Parade All American Jaylon Smith.
At a ceremony Friday night at Luers to present Smith with his number one Mr. Football jersey, Luers athletic director Jim Huth announced the retirement of Smith's football number, making it just the second athlete's number retired ever by Luers.
The nine jersey will be put on the gym wall at Luers to join the other retired jersey, the basketball number one of Deshaun Thomas.
