Spartans Set Sights On 1st Semi-State Victory

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Homestead High School's boys basketball team heads to the 4A Lafayette Jefferson Semi-State this Saturday on the heels of a great showing at the 4A Marion Regional last weekend.

The Spartans won their first ever regional championship by knocking off Kokomo 68-60 in the semi-final and upset No. 3 Hamilton Southeastern 59-57 in the championship game.

Now Homestead faces No. 8 Lake Central at 2:15 p.m. Saturday looking for its first trip to the state finals.
