Luers, Homestead Columbia City, Leo Pass Opening Sectional Tests

UNDATED (Indiana's NewsCenter) - James Knapke threw three touchdown pases, two to Nick Chapel, as Bishop Luers built up a 49-0 halftime lead en route to a 63-14 win over Eastern in 2A football sectional play.

Kenny Mullen ran for a score and caught a pass for another, while Deangelo Fincher ran for 132 yards and another score.

Luers pulled its starters at halftime.

Zach Terrell threw for 296 yards and three scores while running for 72 yards and a touchdown as Homestead pounded Huntington North 43-13 in 5A play.

Logan Rehrer threw for three touchdowns and added a fourth on the ground in Columbia City's 41-21 win over DeKalb in 4A.

Cody Wildman added 151 rushing yards with a touchdown for the Eagles

Leo got two touchdown passes from Ryan Leiter and Reid Rohrbacher returned an interception 77 yards for a score as the Lions topped Norwell 31-7 in 3A

The win was costly as Leo lost star runner Connor Kascor to a knee injury.

Top ranked Eastbrook used three Tanner Day touchdown passes to build a 42-0 lead and coasted to a 42-13 win over Bellmont in 3A.

Daniel Meyer's two touchdowns accounted for the Braves' scores.
