Mad Ants To Hire Laettner As Assistant

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Indiana's NewsCenter has learned the Fort Wayne Mad Ants will hire Christian Laettner as assistant coach, pending NBA Development League approval.

The Mad Ants would not confirm the report.

Laettner was a star collegiate basketball player at Duke University, winning National Championships with the Blue Devils in 1991 and 1992. Laettner was an All-American, who garnered National Player of the Year honors from a host of media outlets his senior year.

Sports director Tommy Schoegler will have more on Laettner's hire at 11 p.m. on Indiana's NewsCenter.
