Red Sox Moving On Again

BOSTON (AP) - A pair of division rivals will square off in the
American League Championship Series.
Jed Lowrie laced an RBI single with two outs in the bottom of
the ninth to give the Red Sox a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels
in Game Four of the AL division series. Jason Bay began the winning
rally by hitting a ground-rule double before scoring on Lowrie's
second hit of the game.
The Angels had a chance to take a 3-2 lead when pinch-hitter
Kendry Morales led off the ninth with a double and pinch-runner
Reggie Willits moved to third on a bunt. But Willits was erased at
third after trying to score on a failed squeeze attempt by Erick
Aybar.
The game was scoreless in the sixth until Jacoby Ellsbury hit an
RBI grounder and Dustin Pedroia followed with a
run-scoring double. It remained 2-0 until Torii Hunter delivered a
two-run single with two outs in the top of the eighth following a
passed ball by Jason Varitek.
Manny Delcarmen retired two hitters in the ninth to get the win.
Scot Shields took the loss.
Red Sox starter Jon Lester had to settle for a no-decision after
limiting the Angels to four hits and two walks in seven shutout
innings.
The Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALCS. Game One is
scheduled for Friday at St. Petersburg.
