INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - When NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell offered his State of the National Football League Address last season, the excitement of the Super Bowl was dampered with the looming NFL Lockout.
With the NFL and the NFL Players Association finally agreed to a collective bargaining agreement, that gave way to a full regular season, Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, ten years of labor piece for pro football, new broadcast deals and more player safety measures.
Goodell touted the league's success in his annual press conference the Friday before the Super Bowl.
Goodell also said in his remarks that he was okay with the public chess match between Colts owner Jim Irsay and quarterback Peyton Manning.
Later in the afternoon, the Colts released a statement reaffirming Irsay's, Manning's and the franchise's unity and process of determining Manning's football future.
