OXNARD, Calif. (www.incnow.tv) - Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer will undergo knee surgery later this week.

Spencer, a former Bishop Luers High School and Purdue University standout, hurt his knee during team conditioning drills at training camp in California.

"We don't think it's a severe thing," Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett says at a press conference Tuesday. "We just wanted to get it cleaned up."

"We're counting on him, he's certainly one of those guys."

The procedure will be artherscopic, and will sideline Spencer for two to four weeks.

Spencer is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season.
