After a scoreless overtime Komet winger Konstantin Shafranov was the only shooter in the three-round shootout to find the back of the net to give the Komets their 10th straight win and clinch the IHL Huber Trophy.
Komet goaltender Kevin Reiter made 29 saves in 65 minutes of play and stopped all three Flint attempts in the shootout for his 26th win of the season and fifth straight. Flint netminder Eric Marvin registered his seventh shootout loss of the season making 38 saves and stopping two out of three Fort Wayne shootout attempts.
The Komets outshot the Generals 41-32 for their 22nd consecutive game outshooting the opponent.
