DETROIT (AP) - Curtis Granderson homered and Placido Polanco hit
a key two-run single as the Tigers beat Cleveland 5-2 this
afternoon at Comerica Park.
Armando Galarraga (5-2) picked up the win, allowing two runs in
5 2-3 innings. Todd Jones pitching the ninth for his 10th save.
Jeremy Sowers (0-1) took the loss for the Indians.
The Tigers scored five runs in the first four innings after
scoring six times in the eighth inning of yesterday's
come-from-behind win.
Cleveland loaded the bases off Zach Miner in the eighth, but
Freddy Dolsi struck out Jhonny Peralta and Ben Francisco to end the
threat.
