Komets Bring Back Two More Cup Team Members, Add Rookie
(Fort Wayne) - The Komets announced Monday that they have re-signed defenseman Jake Pence and forward Olivier Legault for 2008-09, and added rookie defenseman Vince Tarantino to the camp roster. Pence, 24, skated all 76 games of the regular season last year with the Komets posting two goals and 11 points while accumulating 44 penalty minutes. Pence appeared in 12 playoff games registering two assists in the run for the Turner Cup championship. Pence was honored at the conclusion of last season with the Komets' Most Improved Player Award. Legault, 21, also appeared in his first pro season last year with the Komets scoring three goals, nine points and 178 penalty minutes in 55 games, and was a co-winner with teammate Pence for the Komets' Community Service Award for 2007-08. Tarantino, 26, finished four seasons with Potsdam (NCAA-SUNYAC) last year and registered nine assists and 10 points in 22 games during 2007-08. For more on this story, click on the video icon above.
