Phillies Roll Over Milwaukee In Game 1

By WISE Web Sports

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Cole Hamels struck out nine while allowing
two hits over eight innings and Chase Utley smacked a two-run
double as the Phillies beat Milwaukee 3-1 in the opener of their
National League division series.
The NL East champion Phils did all their scoring in the third
inning against losing pitcher Yovanni Gallardo (yoh-VAH'-nee
gy-YAR'-doh). After Utley's double, Shane Victorino walked with the
bases loaded, forcing in Utley.
Brad Lidge (lihj) pitched a shaky ninth inning for the save. He
allowed a run on two hits plus a walk and a wild pitch and had the
tying runs in scoring position before striking out Corey Hart to
end it.
It's the Phillies' first postseason win since Game 5 of the 1993
World Series.
The Phils host the wild card Brewers in game 2 of this
best-of-five series tomorrow night.
