(Fort Wayne) - After two months of first soliciting names, narrowing down the choice, and making all the necessary checks, Fort Wayne's Midwest League baseball team on Thursday became the TinCaps.

The name borrows from the legend of Johnny Appleseed, and depicts the cooking pot often seen in drawings of the early 19th century figure.

Team colors will be red, green, and brown, and hats, uniforms, and other memorabilia with the new colors and logo are expected to appear in 6-8 weeks.
