Muskegon Leaving IHL After This Season

MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Owners of the Muskegon Lumberjacks announced Monday that they will fold their Inernational Hockey League franchise at the end of the season and Turner Cup playoffs.

The IHL’s Board of Governors were informed Monday at the league meetings in Detroit.

A United States Hockey League team will move into Muskegon next season. The USHL is considered the top junior hockey league in the United States and includes players between the ages of 16 and 20.

IHL Board Chairman and Komets president Michael Franke said Monday night the league hoped to have word of new cities and teams before their meetings wrap up Tuesday.
