Fort Wayne, IN (March 21, 2010)- The Mad Ants finished their home season with a 117-105 victory over the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in front of a crowd of over 5,500 Fort Wayne fans. Oliver Lafayette led all scorers with 30 points for the home team.
The first quarter of play was saw 5 ties and 7 lead changes. Shane Edwards scored 14 first quarter points on 7 of 7 shooting to give the T-Birds a 25-24 lead. The second quarter was much of the same as the two teams continued to battle. At the half the Mad Ants were up 55-50.
The Mad Ants utilized balance scoring to pull ahead in the third quarter up 85-77. Anthony Kent scored 11 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter to seal the deal for the Ants.
The Mad Ants finished with 6 players in double figures. Lafayatte added 7 assists to go with his 30 points as Sean Sonderleiter recorded another double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Rob Kurz and Rod Wilmont chipped in 17 and 15 a piece.
Albuquerque was led by Edwards who recorded a double-double of his own with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Keith McLeod and Antoine Agudio contributed 22 and 18 a piece.
