FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - LPGA golfer Amanda Blumenherst says the 2012 Mad Anthonys Charity Classic For Children could help golf in Fort Wayne gain prominence.
Blumenherst, who played a lot of her golf as a youngster in Fort Wayne, is the official host to several of her fellow LPGA pros in a $300,000 event Sunday and Monday that is the highlight of the Charity Classic at Sycamore Hills Golf Club.
Giving a clinic at the Lifetime Sports Acaemy at McMillen Park Friday, Blumenherst said the Charity Classic could get a big boost from this new format, and Fort Wayne's chances to host an LPGA Tour event could be enhanced.
