Clinton, Iowa (Indiana's NewsCenter) – A four-run rally with two out in the ninth inning carried the Fort Wayne TinCaps to a 7-3 victory over the Clinton LumberKings on Tuesday afternoon. Jace Peterson, Justin Miller and Casey McElroy all knocked in runs in succession to break a 3-3 tie that had held since the sixth inning. The TinCaps snapped a two-game losing streak with the victory, and avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the LumberKings.
Clinton (7-12) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning against Fort Wayne (7-12) starter Matt Wisler. A leadoff double by Jamal Austin was followed by back-to-back groundouts, and Austin scored on the latter of the two. The TinCaps tied the game in the third on an RBI single from Peterson, scoring Kyle Gaedele, who had led off with a single.

In the top of the sixth inning, Fort Wayne tied the game at three. Run-producing hits from Miller and McElroy pulled the TinCaps even. McElroy finished the day 3-5 with three runs batted in.
Johnny Barbato (2-0) worked a scoreless seventh and eighth in relief of Wisler.
Still tied at three, the TinCaps and LumberKings headed to the ninth inning. Matt Colantonio reached base with a one out single, but Kyle Gaedele flied to right for the second out of the inning. Leading 7-3, the TinCaps turned the ball over to Matt Stites, who pitched a scoreless ninth.
