(Fort Wayne)- Jim Gallagher, Jr. of Greenwood, Mississippi and Dave Ryan of Taylorville, Illinois, shot 71 and 72, respectively, at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne to qualify for the 2011 U.S. Senior Open Championship. The Senior Open Championship will be played July 28-31, 2011 at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio
The 1st alternate is Robert Gaus of St. Louis, Missouri and the 2nd alternate is Mark Faulkner of Carterville, Illinois. The course was set up at 7,027 yards with a par of 72.
Low Amateur honors went to Dave Ryan of Taylorville, Illinois with a score of 72.
The U.S. Senior Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA.
