IndyCar Will Keep Season Race Total At 15

IndyCAr was exploring a potential replacement event after it announced June 13 that its inaugural race in China, scheduled for Aug. 19, had been canceled.

After considering all possible options for an additional race, IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard said it was in the series' best interest to keep the schedule at its current 15 event lineup,

The 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series season finale will be held September. 15th in Fontana, California, and the race distance will be extended to 500 miles, which it last was in 2002.
