FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Daniel Maggio blasted home a power play goal from the slot with 2:12 gone in overtime to give the Komets a 2-1 win over Evansville and a split of the two preseason games on the weekend.
The Komets went with more of their regulars in Sunday's game and it showed in the way they played, using the team systems with more regularity.
Matt Firman had given the Komets a 1-0 lead in the third period, only to have Evansville's Daniel Tetrault match it two and a half minutes later.
The Komets earlier in the day trimmed ten players from their training camp roster.
