ELMIRA, NEW YORK (www.incnow.tv) - The Komets, despite a great game in goal by Charlie Effinger, dropped a 2-1 shootout decision at Elmira Saturday night.

Effinger turned aside all but one of 42 Elmira shots, among them a penalty shot.

Matt Syroczynski sent the game beyond regulation with a power play goal with 2:55 remaining, but the K's could only get one goal in the shootout from Jamie Milam, while Elmira put two in for the win.

The Komets next play on Wednesday night against Toledo to begin the final week of their season.
