FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Joe Colon pitched six strong innings and Alex Lavisky slammed a solo home run to help the Lake County Captains past the TinCaps 4-2 Sunday, denying the Caps their first three game home series sweep since May of 2011.
Lake County jumped on Fort Wayne starter Colin Rea for four runs in the first three innings.
The TinCaps hit the scoreboard in the fifth on a Kyle Gaedele RBI single and then threatened in the ninth, scoring once on Duanel Jones' run scoring base hit.
Fort Wayne put the tying runs on base and had the winning run at the plate, but could not sustain the rally.
The TinCaps open a three game series with Lansing Monday night.
