INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Rookie Josef Newgarden for the second time in three days was the fastest in practice Monday for the Indianapolis 500.
Speeds continue to climb as drivers and teams took advantage of a third consecutive day of sunny and warm conditions at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Newgarden was fastest for the second time in three days at 222.486 mph, fastest of the month so far.
Ryan Hunter-Reay (221.639) and Marco Andretti (221.519) were second and third fastest, followed by Scott Dixon (221.499) and Sebastian Saavedra (220.785)
29 drivers took part in the third straight incident free practice.
