DETROIT, Mich. (21 Alive) - Norwell grad Jarrod Parker pitched five innings to earn his first career major league postseason victory as the Oakland Athletics downed the Detroit Tigers 6-3 Monday to take a 2-1 lead in their American League Division Series.

Parker allowed five hits and three runs with a walk and a strikeout, and was given the lead for good in the fourth on home runs by Brandon Moss and Seth Smith, and great bullpen work by Dan Otero, Sean Dolittle, and Grant Balfour saved it for him.

Parker and the Athletic can wrap up the series with a win in Detroit on Tuesday
