Fort Wayne (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The CHL Presidents' Cup Champion Fort Wayne Komets held their 2012 championship party and jersey auction Thursday night at Memorial Coliseum.

Specialty items included game-worn jerseys, framed-photos by photographer John Rothwell, a pair of Colin Chaulk bobble-heads, a Komets championship banner and a Komets championship season scrapbook.

The auction raised a total of $24,100, besting last year's $18,325. Net proceeds from the jersey auction will be distributed to charity.

Fort Wayne City Councilman Tom Didier (R), who starts most Komets home games by singing the National Anthem, kicked off the celebration by reading a proclamation from Mayor Tom Henry (D), declaring Friday as "Fort Wayne Komets Day." All residents of Fort Wayne are encouraged to wear orange to honor the K's.
