INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Curtis Painter enjoyed his best ever outing with the Indianapolis Colts, but the Green Bay Packers rallied for a 24-21 win over the Colts Friday night in preseason action..
Painter, playing the first half, threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns to stake the Colts to a 14-10 halftime lead.
Painter hooked up with Reggie Wayne on a 57 yard touchdown pass and had a seven yard score to Chris Brooks.
But the Packers rallied with 11 points in the final minute, pulling out the win on Mason Crosby's 50 yard field goal as time expired.
The Colts said after the game they intend to activate Peyton Manning prior to the start of the regular season so as not to lose him for the first six weeks of the season by having him on the physically unable to perform list.
