OAKLAND (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Jarrod Parker now looks forward to his next start this weekend after taking a no hitter into the eighth inning Monday night against Texas.
And his manager says Parker would have been pulled after eight innings even if he still had the no hitter.
Parker, the one time Norwell star, saw his no hitter broken up by Michael Young's clean single up the middle leading off the eighth.
He finished the inning, but his 111 pitch count would have made Oakland manager Bob Melvin pull him at that point, no hitter or otherwise.
Parker struck out six in the 12-1 that raised his record to 2-2.
