FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Held in check the two previous nights, the TinCaps awoke with 15 hits Saturday night and clubbed West Michigan 12-4 in the opener of a four game series.

Travis Whitmore had four hits and Tyler Stubblefield and Duanel Jones each smacked a home run as the Caps scored four times in the first inning and eight times in the first four innings.

Austin Hedges' bases clearing double in the sixth put a stamp on the victory.

Cody Hebner again was the benefactor of a big offensive outburst from the Caps, and picked up his fifth win against one loss on the mound.
