FORT WAYNE (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Kevin Patterson's three run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning sent the TinCaps to a 5-4 defeat at the hands of Lansing Thursday night in the Cap's final home game of the first half.

Yeison Esencio drove in two runs to help the TinCaps build a 4-1 lead after five innings, and Austin Hedges had a run scoring double.

The eighth inning Lansing rally wasted a solid mound effort by Colin Rea, who fanned eight in six innings while allowing a single run.

The TinCaps wind up the first half of the season with three games at Bowling Green starting Friday night.
